Getting started

This guide walks you through signing up for VidMachine and creating your first AI video project. Whether you want to run a faceless YouTube Shorts channel, grow a TikTok with AI-generated content, or automate short-form video creation, you’ll have a project and your first video pipeline ready in minutes.

Who is VidMachine for?

VidMachine is an AI video generator and automation platform for creators who want to produce short-form video content at scale. It’s built for YouTube Shorts and TikTok: you create projects (one per channel or niche), generate video ideas with AI, then produce full videos—including screenplay, AI video clips, optional narrator voice, and captions. You can work manually from the dashboard or turn on automatic video generation so ideas and videos are created and posted on a schedule. Developers can use the REST API to integrate VidMachine into their own tools and workflows.

Quick start

Follow these four steps to go from sign-up to your first AI-generated video. Each step is summarized below; for a detailed walkthrough of creating and publishing videos (including project settings and scheduling), see How to create videos. For hands-free publishing, see Automatic video generation.
1
Create an account
Sign up with Google or email. You get credits to try the platform and start creating AI-generated videos right away.
2
Open the dashboard
After login you land on the dashboard. Use the sidebar to go to Projects (where you define channels and settings) and Videos (where you generate ideas and produce clips).
3
Create a project
Go to Projects and create a project (e.g. your channel name or niche). Set a title, a detailed description that steers your content, and video preferences like duration and AI model.
4
Generate ideas and videos
In Videos, click “Generate Video Ideas” for a project, then pick an idea and generate the full video. See our step-by-step guide for the full workflow.

After you create a project

Once your project exists, the next steps are: generate a batch of video ideas (from the Videos page), open an idea you like, and run “Generate video” to create the screenplay, AI video, and optional narrator. You can then schedule the video for a specific time or publish it. If you connect your YouTube and TikTok accounts (Accounts in the sidebar), you can publish directly to Shorts and TikTok. Your usage is tracked in credits; see Credits & billing for what consumes credits and how to manage your plan.
